Fragmented Essence

Fragmentation here is not a defect but a proposition: areas of the face assert themselves precisely while others dissolve into the ground or fade into matter. Luminous fragments connect the pieces like landmarks, without fusing them. Legac proposes a phenomenology of the gaze: we reconstruct faces from fragments, and this canvas refuses to do the work for us. Oil on canvas, 150 × 150 cm, 2024.
