Gold Beneath The Veil

The dark fabric covering the face does not conceal — it yields. The gold that pierces it is not an ornament: it is an interior material forcing its passage. A single eye emerges from the tear, framed in gold and brown, looking out from the fissure with the concentration of what knows. The gilded baroque frame holds the image like the living border of an icon in the act of breaking. Legac paints value here as a subterranean force — not an exposed wealth, but a resistance that eventually finds its fissures. Oil and gold leaf on canvas, 120 × 120 cm, 2025.
