Scarlet Veil

Scarlet summons here all its symbolic weight — blood, passion, royalty, sin — in order to transform it. The veil does not conceal the figure: it reveals her, tracing contours with a precision sometimes surpassing bare skin. The complexion dialogues with the scarlet in a continuity of pinks and flesh tones: the figure extends into the veil. Dark ground, touches of gold: a work on the power of a color well held. Oil on canvas, 150 × 150 cm, 2024.
