Blue Ether and Gold

A female figure emerges from a ground of deep blue ether, features asserting themselves where light settles and dissolving where the blue reclaims its territory. Passages of gold intervene as luminous stations, neither ornaments nor accidents: they arrest movement, concentrate energy, and remind us that presence can coexist with the immaterial. Legac explores here a figure’s belonging to its ground rather than its domination over it. Oil on canvas, 150 × 150 cm, 2024.
