The Quiet Division

This canvas rests on a founding act: division. A figure in three-quarter view, eyes closed, in a palette of beige and ivory, occupies the left half — on the right, a dark rectangle structures the ground while a large engraved geometric circle traverses both zones. Fragments of gold leaf drift in the intermediate space. Legac seeks here not resolution but coexistence: light and darkness, presence and withdrawal, fullness and silence hold one another in a tension that never quite resolves.
