The Golden Wound

This figure looks — frontally, from a three-quarter plane, with the serenity of what knows. On her head, a dark band covered in fragments of gold, paper, and lacerated fabric: not a new crown, but the trace of one that was. The red threads running beneath the dress, the gilded baroque frame that consecrates the whole as a dynastic icon — everything here declares that one does not measure the value of a presence by its condition, but by the quality of its gaze.
